Reports and Publications

Lea Castle Conservation Project is committed to sharing the great work completed on the castle so far. Our project’s aim is to understand and conserve Lea Castle within its natural and built landscapes for the local community and beyond because of its local, national and international significance. As part of this, our group has carried out a number of surveys that includes the castle, its conservation as well as investigations of the wider landscapes of Lea’s historic past. Please have a look, download and read our various exciting and interesting reports and publications on the castle regarding the conservation, history, architecture and biodiversity of Lea Castle as well as our geophysical surveys. Also, take a tour of the interpretative posters completed for Heritage Week 2016, which are also on display on Portarlington Library

Donate

The nature of a project such as the Lea Castle Conservation Project carries a significant financial burden. Although we have been lucky to have received €14,000 in funding from the Heritage Council, this barely begins to scratch the surface of the costs involved in producing a Conservation Report, and then moving forward to implement it. Lea Castle also presents many complex challenges meaning that the figure needed could stretch into millions. Therefore, we ask that you consider donating to the Lea Castle Conservation Project. No matter how small your donation it will be used wisely for further the aims of the overall project. We thank you for your support.
